Escrow is a legalized agreement for depositing the source code of software with a third party escrow agent (sealed Source code in a secure locker and/or host in a server with and without encryption/reporting). Escrow is typically requested by a party licensing software (the licensee), to ensure maintenance of the software. The software source code is released to the licensee if the licensor files for bankruptcy or otherwise fails to maintain and update the software according to the contract made between the Licensor, the Licensee and the Escrow Agent (third party). Elate IT as an Escrow Agent delivers the material to the proper recipient upon the occurrence of some release event according to the jurisdiction of Pakistan or otherwise bound to keep that material with him.
